What is an HSRP?

High security number plates are manufactured from aluminium, and two non-reusable Snap-On locks fasten the plate to the vehicle. The Ashoka Chakra, a blue hologram, is hot-stamped onto the top left corner of the plate. On the bottom left corner, a 10-digit permanent identification number (PIN) is laser engraved. The "India" name is inscribed on this plate in 45-degree angle in addition to the numbers and letters.

Who needs HSRP?

It is mandatory for all vehicle owners. Number plates sold after 2019 are already HSRP, so people who bought vehicles before 2019 need to get it changed.
